Privacy Policy

Qolla is a personal planner for iPhone. It is designed to keep your planning information on your device without requiring an account.

Qolla does not operate its own servers for storing your planning data. Some optional features use Apple services, as explained below.

This policy explains what information Qolla handles and how you can manage it.

Information stored on your iPhone

Qolla stores the information you choose to enter, including tasks, commitments, notes, plans, Middle Shelf items, practices, reflections, History, settings and optional Money information.

If you use Islamic prayer times, Qolla may also store your prayer settings, completed prayers, the times you marked them as prayed and days marked On period.

This information is stored locally on your iPhone and is not sent to a Qolla-operated server.

Copies may also exist in device backups or files you choose to export.

Money

Money is optional and remains off until you enable it.

If you use it, Qolla stores the information you enter about bills, subscriptions, free trials, debts, savings, fees, limits and where you keep important records.

Qolla does not connect to your bank, import transactions, request banking passwords or PINs or check your credit.

For your security, please do not enter banking passwords, complete card numbers or security answers.

Money is a personal organization feature, not a financial advisory service. You should independently verify important financial information and payment deadlines.

Location and prayer times

Islamic prayer times are optional.

If you select Use my current location, Qolla requests your device location to calculate prayer times. Qolla does not use your location for advertising or continuous tracking.

To identify your city or place name, Qolla uses Apple location services. If you search for a city manually, Apple services may process that search.

Apple handles information processed through its services under its own privacy practices.

You can use Qolla without enabling prayer times or granting location permission. Location access can be managed in your iPhone Settings.

Prayer times are calculated estimates and may differ from local mosque schedules or religious authorities. For important observances, verify times with a trusted local source.

Photos

If you choose a personal photo as a background, Qolla stores a copy on your iPhone for use in the app.

Qolla does not upload your selected photo to a Qolla-operated server.

Custom background photos are not included in Qolla manual backup files. They may be included in device-level backups depending on your iPhone settings.

Notifications

Qolla offers optional local notifications for features such as commitments, nudges, prayer times, daily check-ins, sleep reminders and Money reminders.

These notifications are scheduled on your iPhone rather than through a Qolla-operated notification server.

Notification delivery depends on your device settings, permissions and operating system. Qolla cannot guarantee that every notification will arrive at a particular time.

During the free trial, Qolla limits scheduled notifications to the trial period. If access expires, pending notifications are removed.

You can manage notification permissions in your iPhone Settings.

Backups and exports

Qolla allows you to manually create backups and export certain records or notes.

Manual backups are created when you choose to make them. You decide where the resulting files are saved or shared.

Backups can include personal information such as tasks, notes, reflections, History, Money records, completed prayers and days marked On period.

You can choose to protect a backup with a password. Password-protected backups are encrypted. Backups without a password are not encrypted, so anyone who obtains the file may be able to read its contents.

If you forget the password for an encrypted backup, Qolla may not be able to recover its contents.

Text exports are not password-protected and may be readable by anyone who has access to the files.

Qolla does not automatically upload manual backup or export files to its own servers. If you choose to save or share files using iCloud Drive, email or another service, those files are handled according to the privacy practices of that service.

Separately, the Apple iCloud device backup feature may include locally stored Qolla information, depending on your iPhone settings. Apple privacy practices apply to those backups.

Purchases

Qolla includes a free 30-day trial followed by an optional one-time purchase to continue using the app.

There is no recurring subscription and the trial does not automatically convert into a paid purchase.

Purchases and purchase restoration are handled through Apple App Store services. Qolla checks purchase entitlement information to determine whether you have trial or purchased access.

Qolla does not receive or store your payment card details.

The applicable Apple terms and privacy practices govern App Store payment processing.

Advertising, analytics and tracking

Qolla does not include advertising or third-party analytics services.

Qolla does not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.

Apple may separately process information relating to App Store downloads, purchases and diagnostics under its own privacy practices.

Children

Qolla is a general personal planning app and is not specifically designed or marketed for children.

Qolla does not require users to create an account or submit planning information to a Qolla-operated server.

Data retention and deletion

Information entered into Qolla generally remains on your device until you delete it, replace it through a restore operation or remove the app.

You can delete many individual items within Qolla. Some records, including History and Reflections, cannot be deleted individually within the app.

Deleting Qolla from your iPhone removes its locally stored app data. However, copies may remain in existing iCloud device backups or in backup and export files you previously saved.

You can manage or delete those copies through the services or locations where they are stored.

Because Qolla does not maintain a central database of your planning information, Qolla support generally cannot access, retrieve or delete that information on your behalf.

You can withdraw location and notification permissions through your iPhone Settings.

Support communications

If you contact Qolla support by email, your email address and any information you include in your message will be received and used to respond to your request, investigate problems and provide support.

Support emails are handled through the relevant email service providers and may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond to requests and maintain related records, subject to applicable law.

Please avoid sending passwords, payment card details or sensitive personal records in support messages.

You may contact Qolla support to ask about or request deletion of support correspondence, subject to applicable legal requirements.

Security

Qolla is designed to store planning information locally and offers optional password protection for manual backups.

However, no device, application or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We recommend protecting access to your iPhone and storing backup files carefully.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to Qolla, its features, data practices or applicable requirements.

Material changes to how personal information is handled will be explained in an updated policy, with additional notice or consent where required by applicable law.

The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
